For 1 year of post-secondary studies, you will get a 1-year post-graduate work permit ( PGWP) and for 2 years or more, years of studies will have 3 years of work permit after the completion of the studies.

After you receive PGWP, please make sure you enter a field of work that relates to your study to get 1 year of experience to apply for the Canada Experience Class (CEC). For CEC you also need to score higher in IELTS to make the cut-off marks in Express Entry.

If you are choosing another field to work for, make sure you have 0, A, B category of jobs so that, you can be eligible for the provincial nominee program. Always check if the employer can assist you to offer a job that supports your provincial nominee application.
